Sunflower – The Agronomic Essentials
Technical guide for succeed in your culture. Sunflower seeds are basically destined for edible oil production (43% of the seed); ranking second behind rapeseed oil. After extracting the oil, the seeds provide an oilseed cake (55% of the seed) used for animal feed which has a good food protein content (29 to 30%). The European Union of 25 uses around 8 million tonnes of oilseed cake, i.e.12% of the total of the oilseed consumed (2011).
